Don’t forget this on your next trip to Conroe
BySo you’ve finally done it, you’ve called up one of our Lake Conroe fishing guides and set up a trip that is sure to satisfy your craving for some monster fish. It’s a time I’m more than familiar with and as with anything it’s best to plan ahead and prepare for the worst that mother nature could potentially throw at you. This post was specifically made to be a quick read for you right as you’re leaving the house to double check that both your day bag are your car are more than sufficient for your weekend get away.
Sun block – This is a no brainer for most people but I’ve on more than one occasion forgotten to pack it and believe me, the pain afterwords is not justified even by a huge Lake Conroe catfish you’re sure to catch.
Wet weather clothes – Both ponchos and warmer clothes are a life saver if nature seems to not favor you on your day to the lake, as previously stated, even a great day on the lake cannot be justified by a wet, miserable trip because you didn’t spring for the minor hassle of packing one.
Polarized Glasses and a Hat/Cap – Just another preliminary protection against the wrath that a Texas sun can bring you if you go out unprotected.
Fishing Licenses – You should definatly double check with your guide on who and what type of specific licenses will be required for your trip, but they can be found anywhere ranging from local gas stations, Walmart, and even online.
Two quality ice chests – One to keep that mess of Lake Conroe crappie you’re bringing home with you and an additional one to keep both food, snacks, drinks, and if your guide allows it, a couple cold ones. =]
Camera – Another often forgotten aspect of a fishing trip people overlook, how are you going to prove that your “fish story” actually holds some fact. I’d personally recommend a few water proof cameras you can pick up at your local Walmart that are both disposable and can take a little bit of beating, cause you never know what kind of conditions the water will be on you trip.
And last but not least from everyone at Lake Conroe fishing guides, have fun, your trip is going to turn out great and it’ll be a found memory you’ll be sure to revisit for the rest of your life.
